Tēnā koutou katoa. As Pro-Vice-Chancellor, I am pleased to welcome you to the College of Business and Law Te Rāngai Umanga me te Ture. Both the academic faculties and administrative support staff in the College are committed to offering you the opportunity to gain an internationally recognised qualification with courses underpinned by leading-edge research in a vibrant learning environment.

The College of Business and Law was formed in 2012 and comprises the School of Business and Economics, and UC School of Law.

The School of Law, founded in 1873 in Christchurch, in the South Island of New Zealand, is well established as one of the leading research and teaching Law Schools in New Zealand. With a long history of academic scholarship, the UC School of Law enjoys a well-deserved reputation for excellence in teaching, high quality writing and research as well as for producing outstanding graduates.

The School of Business and Economics has earned initial accreditation by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, placing the School in the top five percent of the world's business programmes. The UC Bachelor of Commerce degree was established in 1906 by Sir James Hight. We have been the choice for many distinguished New Zealanders and international alumni including New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.

The School of Business and Economics comprises four departments:
