The College of Business and Law was formed in 2012 and comprises UC Business School and UC School of Law.

The School of Law, founded in 1873 in Christchurch, in the South Island of New Zealand, is well established as one of the leading research and teaching Law Schools in New Zealand. With a long history of academic scholarship, the UC School of Law enjoys a well-deserved reputation for excellence in teaching, high quality writing and research as well as for producing outstanding graduates.

UC Business School is accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, placing the School in the top five percent of the world's business programmes. UC Business School comprises four departments:
